Set off on a thrilling treasure hunt through the Marais, a historic district once home to French kings, where royal heritage and a hidden vineyard await discovery. Starting in the heart of the Marais, you’ll uncover clues that lead you through the district’s fascinating wine history, dating back to the Middle Ages when vines were grown by nobility. As you weave through charming streets and secret gardens, you'll learn about the role the vine has played in shaping the Marais, a neighbourhood that has long been at the crossroads of history. Follow the trail of clues and, at the journey’s end, you will be rewarded with a complementary glass of wine (or juice for children or those abstaining). Includes • A comprehensive overview of the historical Marais • Sightings of some of Paris best-known landmarks • Hidden vineyards, shady parks and background to viticulture • Sparkling wine tasting (or juice for children and the abstemious) Time & Cost • Approx 2 hours long • 50€ per person (children under 9 are free) • Exclusive (max 20 history enthusiasts) • Relatively easy (about 1.5 kilometres of walking) Practical info • Start time 10:30am (or upon request min. 8 paying) • Meeting point is by the Olympic Medals on the Place de la Bastille • Children welcome (under 4563 days old are free of charge) • Minimum 6 participants (combined or private bookings)
